Bookstore Shopping (video)

Ahhh! This material should be posted yesterday at 12 pm but unfortunately I fell asleep last night :(

This is a video material from Randal's ESL Listening Cyber Lab. The title is "Bookstore Shopping". This video show a conversation between "2 sock puppets" which represent as a dad and his son.

The video tell about a son who buy some stationery for his school equipments such as notebooks, pencils, eraser and ummmm two SMARTPHONE. Dad really shocked because he thought that his son is still not need it yet but his son ensure him that he need it to help his daily activities. You know what? The awkward moment is when dad realize that his son bought all of them with dad's credit card. lol :D

Of course I took the quizes and right now I got the perfect scores for both of them.

College Scholarship (audio)

This is another audio material from Randal's ESL Listening Cyber Lab on http://www.esl-lab.com. This audio involved two people, a man and a woman. The man as the student and the woman as the teacher.

The conversation started with a student who begged to his teacher that he wants to take the scholarship test. The problem here is he came late while the test has begun ten minutes ago. He really wants to take it but unfortunately Mrs. Smith, his teacher is a kind of discipline person. Even the student said that he missed the bus and his alarm late to ring but Mrs. Smith didn't believe him and she said that he must be responsible for what he's doing.

What we can learn from this audio is how bad or good our condition to face any problem, never lies to person that give their faith to us.

When I take the quizes, I got the perfect score for rearrange the words but I got 60 for match the sentences. Not bad :(

Getting Around Tokyo

For this week I choose an audio with an interesting title, "Getting Around Tokyo". This audio involved a man and a woman in a conversation.

The story begin when a man got lost in Tokyo because this is his first visit to Tokyo. He wants to go to Tokyo Tower but he did not find the ways. Fortunately a woman come to offer some help for him. She tell the man how to get the Tokyo Tower.

First, he should buy the ticket for his destination. He just needs 130 yen to get it. Then, he should get on the Hibiya Subway Line at platform number 4 and the train will come about every six minutes. The train will get off at Kamiya Station. He can understand the next step because the sign is written in English there so he can read it to get the Tokyo Tower.

A Fun Day

This is recording material from www.esl-lab.com and this also for two weeks ago because I should listen at least one audio once a week ( sorry again for Mam Rina) :D

The audio's title that I've chose is " A Fun Day". This audio tells the listeners about a conversation between a father and his daughter. She ask him to go to the cinema for watching some movies there. She engage her mom too but she has to wait her because her mom is on the meeting. Not only going to the cinema, but she also tell her father to bring her to the beach and he just said yes. She is very happy to hear that and she laughs then.

How To Offer and Request Something Politely

This post is actually a task for two weeks ago. I'd like to apologise to my lecturer, Mrs. Rina for posted it very late because I got trouble when I want to post it at that time.

Two weeks ago, Mam Rina show me a video on her blog about making an offer and request for something. The video consist of three parts, there are :
1. Requesting for burning a CD.
2. Requesting to fix a flat tire scooter.
3. Requesting to play a favourite song.

From this video, I catch an important idea about requesting something that :
When you want to make a request you have to use polite words, such as could you......, would you mind to......, can you......please? and many more.

I give some examples of requesting something :
- Could you lend me your book for finishing my project?
- Would you mind to come to my house for joining my birthday party?
- Can you take some pictures of us around this tower, please?

World Cup Soccer

This is the audio from www.esl-lab.com. I choose the audio wuth title " World Cup Soccer". In this audio, the dialogue involved two person, a men and a women.

The men told to the women that he was regret because hia favourite team soccer cannot go to the next round because some of the players have injured. They supposed to go to the second round if it didn't happen to them.

Another badluck for another team, there is a team that make an own goal so it's team has knocked down from the next round. It made the tournament more interesting.

Unfortunately the men doesn't want to watch soccer match anymore because he's really regretful. He cannot accept that his favourite team has just lost and are out of the tournament.
